Sankara Legacy Acte II

Sankara Legacy Act II is the second stage of an event taking the form of a multidisciplinary festival from April 13th till 15th, 2018 in Brussels.

This project aims to commemorate the 30th death anniversary of the former President of Burkina Faso, Thomas Sankara. He was murdered on October 15th, 1987, after only four years at the head of the country.

  • The photo exhibition "Burkina Faso 2014" will open the Sankara Legacy festival on April 13th at Espace Ochola.
  • Concerts of Smockey and Sam’s K Le Jah as well as Seydou Boro. DJ’s will be playing African sounds from the 70’s as well as present metissed rythms.
  • Debates with a panel of specialists to situate Sankara in the perspectives of current economic and geopolitic trends.
  • The documentary "La révolution à main nue, la trajectoire d’un peuple, Burkina Faso" (The revolution with bare hands, the trajectory of the people of Burkina Faso), co-authored by Hans George Eberl and Moussa Ouédraogo, will be projected in the presence of filmmaker Hans George Eberl.
