A few words about your artistic journey

25 major creations, 9 national and international tours, more than 600 shows played. Best Actress at FlTD-BURKINA in 2008 and at the 2019 Lomé Film Festival; Prix ​​de la Femme Battante of Burkina ‘’ BUMO 2017 ’’, storytelling category; Tribute received at the 2018 Carthage Theater Days.

How long have you been an artist?

I have 19 years of artistic career (as a storyteller since 2001 and theater actress from 2006).

Why did you apply for this grant? How will the grant support you?

This grant will allow me to be in optimal working conditions that encourage inspiration. In this way, I will be able to do a good job of artistic creation in the service of the fight against covid-19 and to show that culture is a powerful adjuvant for strengthening resilience in the face of various crises.

What are your concrete artistic objectives after this residency?

Produce a poetic tale show filmed in the form of a soap opera; and broadcast these soap operas on digital platforms and social networks.

How did you feel during the residency? And at the end of it?

The beginning of the residency was not easy for me. I had no inspiration. I couldn’t get my mind moving and many questions came to my mind.
In addition, every day, information would come up telling us that this or that activity was cancelled.

But I managed to close those doors in my mind that were troubling me in order to really be in residence. The residency gave me hope, it made me realize that you could see other horizons. I can readjust my shooting shoulder, even change places without leaving my target.

This residence woke me up. It diverted me from the darkness where I was going. I was able to create a work as I had imagined it.
