Atelier Graphoui is a filmmakers’ collective, an audiovisual production studio and a centre of expression and creativity established in 1979. It is a laboratory for sounds and images, active in both production and training.

Atelier Graphoui supports audiovisual creations (e.g. animated films, documentaries, audio recordings, video installations, experimental films) which challenge the boundaries between substance, form, and genre and explore and use language in an atypical and innovative way.

As part of the partnership with Africalia and its Global Citizenship Education programme, Atelier Graphoui wishes to boost its international residencies programme by hosting two African artists each year for a residency lasting between one and three months. The resulting artistic creations are meant to reveal diverse, multilingual voices and stories, each of which presents challenges, questions, tensions and opportunities for connection. The residencies are accompanied by projections or exchanges with the artists allowing the public to better understand their stories.
