The Manufacture de Namur is a workshop bringing together students and instructors from French film schools. Its aim is to help strengthen a genuine network of film schools in the French-speaking world and promote exchanges between students. The programme includes lessons in film and various encounters at which participants will receive practical advice for a more successful start to their journey as young film professionals.
Seven young film students between the ages of 18 and 25 from all over the French-speaking world have been invited to attend the third edition of La Manufacture which will take place on 5 and 6 october 2017 in the Palais des Congrès of Namur. They will be supervised by Isabelle Fauvel and Hakim Mao of Initiative Film (France). The students will also sit on the Émile Cantillon Jury, which will select the winner of the Bayard Award for the best first film.
Isabelle Kouraogo, a student at the ESAV in Marrakech from Ivory Coast , will be attending the Manufacture thanks to the partnership between FIFF and Africalia. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in audiovisual studies in Abidjan, she decided to study film and enrolled on a film-making programme at the Ecole supérieure des Arts Visuels in Marrakech. She dreams of making socially engaged films, as according to her film is the best way to translate our emotions into images.
