VIERNULVIER

VIERNULVIER is a centre of and for the arts in the middle of the city of Ghent. It is a central platform in a growing network of artists and organisations from numerous sectors. Inspired by a turbulent world and a fast-changing arts sector, VIERNULVIER reinforces the cross-fertilisation between the arts and diverse communities. The centre serves as a welcoming meeting place and a lab for development, production, presentation, participation and reflection – rooted in a rich history of innovation and social engagement.

The collaboration with VIERNULVIER and Africalia’s Global Citizenship Education Programme in Belgium takes place within VIERNULVIER’s artistic programmes linked to the Performing Arts, Music, Literature, Urban Workshop and the Think Vooruit discussion platform. VIERNULVIER wishes to invite more new artists from Africa and/or the African diaspora to various activities. In addition, together with Africalia, VIERNULVIER is looking into the possibility of setting up a network of venues for African performing arts so that the programming can be presented more widely in Belgium and neighbouring countries.
