Africalia joins one of its longstanding partners, the ISIS-SE, will welcome you to take part in their daily activities. You will be immersed into a dance rehearsal and a film projection in a village near Ouagadougou.
This itinerant artwork will be showcased every day in Ouagadougou at different locations. (...)
Africalia is a longstanding partner of FESPACO and supports the festival in the promotion of African cinema. On the occasion of this 25th edition running from 25/02 to 4/03 in Ouagadougou, Africalia has the pleasure to invite you to the following activities :
- 4:00PM : Africalia press conference at the CNA Village located at the Maquis du Festival (Cité An III, near the Neerwaya cinema). During the conference, the Africalia team will present the new Multiannual Programme for 2017-2021.
- 6:30PM : Film Screenings by ISIS-SE students in Gounghin ex-sector 08 on the Camara LAYE field (near the maquis le Fleuve du Faso). This event is jointly organised and presented by Cinéma Numérique Ambulant and ISIS-SE, two of Africalia’s partners.
Africalia joins one of its longstanding partners, the ISIS-SE (Institute of Image and Sound), to present a master class on "The making of a feature film in the digital era : approach/evolution, aesthetics, constraints and opportunities for a young director", led by Alain Gomis at ISIS-SE (01 BP 647 Ouagadougou).
Alain Gomis is a renowned Franco-Senegalese filmmaker. He won the Golden Yennenga Stallion at FESPACO 2013 with his movie "Tey". This year he makes his come back with a new film called "Félicité", the 2017 recipient of the Jury Grand Prize at the Berlinale, also selected at FESPACO 2017.
This audiovisual installation will beam you up into the creative universe of Burkina Faso. Two of Africalia’s partners, CDC-La termitière and Cinéma Numérique Ambulant Afrique, will welcome you to take part in their daily activities. You will be immersed into a dance rehearsal and a film projection in a village near Ouagadougou.

As part of its Multiannual Programme, Africalia seeks to encourage exchanges between professional partners. This year, Yirgashewa Teshome Amare (Director of the Ethiopian International film festival) and Ganza Buroko (Director of the Congo International Film Festival "CIFF") will be attending FESPACO and will take part in several working sessions.
