This was written in close collaboration with our partners. In Belgium, our partners are Afrika Filmfestival, Atelier Graphoui, Les Halles de Schaerbeek, KIKK asbl, Kunstencentrum Vooruit and WIELS. In Burkina Faso, we will collaborate with Fédération du Cartel, Cinéma Numérique Ambulant-Afrique, La Fabrique and la Plateforme Culturelle du Burkina Faso. In Burundi, we will start a partnership with troupe Lampyre and Menya Média. In Kenya, we will continue the work begun with Creatives Garage. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, our partners are 3 Tamis, Groupe Taccems Asbl, Tarmac des Auteurs, Yolé Africa and Kobo Hub. In Uganda we will work with Bayimba Cultural Foundation and lastly,in Zimbabwe with Nhimbe Trust and Afrikera Arts Trust.

Although the program granted a positive response, Africalia, like many other organisations, faces a significant budgetary reduction while trying to keep up with its primary ambitions. In the Sub-Saharan African countries, the logic of intervention has been developed along 6 axes : (1) strengthening the associative governance and networking of cultural actors, (2) the advocacy to persuade public authorities to provide more grants for cultural initiatives aimed at the development of CCIs,(3) the professionalisation of competences, (4) the production of high quality cultural and artistic creations, (5) wider dissemination of creations and at last, but not least, the (6) ability to generate income.

Based on the experience and expertise developed in supporting cultural and creative entrepreneurship, notably with the Afrique Creative programme, Africalia is launching a support programme in three countries, Uganda, Burkina Faso and the DRC in partnership with local incubators for the benefit of more than 40 cultural and creative enterprises.
